Tour description

Step into the heart of Malé with me, and let’s uncover the real stories behind the city’s walls. This isn’t your typical walking tour—it’s a personal journey through the soul of the Maldives. I grew up exploring these streets, and now I love sharing the hidden corners, surprising histories, and local flavors that even some locals miss.

We'll visit the 16th-century Hukuru Miskiy (Old Friday Mosque), the Presidential Palace, Sultan Park, the bustling local market and fish market, Republic Square, and the impressive Islamic Centre. Along the way, I’ll tell you stories of sultans, fables, and everyday island life.

We’ll end near Chaandhanee Magu, where you can shop at the oldest and largest souvenir shop, relax, or ask me for the best spots to eat like a local.

If you want more than just photos—if you're curious, love culture, and enjoy connecting with people—this tour is for you. Come walk with me, and let me show you the Malé I know and love!

Highlights

What will we see on this tour?

Meeting point:
5GH8+4WF, Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Malé, Maldives
We’ll meet at the Malé Ferry Terminal, located right opposite Maagiri Hotel—a central and easy-to-find spot in the city. I’m easy to recognize! I’ll be wearing a white polo shirt with “Follow Me To Maldives” written on it. I’ll also have a big smile and probably be waving before you even spot me!
1
Outside visit
Majeediyya School
Majeedhiya School is one of Malé’s oldest and most beloved landmarks, where generations of Maldivians began their journey of learning. Though we can only admire it from outside, its historic facade and stories echo the island’s rich educational heritage. Join me to see this iconic site and hear why it’s so important to the local community.
2
Outside visit
People's Majlis (Parliament House)
The People’s Majlis, home to the Maldivian Parliament, stands as a powerful symbol of democracy in the Maldives. With its clean, modern lines and national flag flying high, this building marks where major decisions shaping the nation are made. As we view it from outside, I’ll share stories of its political significance and how the Maldives transitioned from sultanate to republic.
3
Outside visit
Medhu Ziyaaraiy
Medhu Ziyaaraiy, the ancient royal palace ruins, is a captivating glimpse into the Maldives’ royal past. Though we can only admire it from outside, the site whispers stories of sultans, power, and lost kingdoms. Walk with me to this mysterious landmark and uncover the secrets of Malé’s history.
