Food Tour of Boston’s Hidden Gems from Fenway to Allston
Tour description
Boston is home to a rich history of art and music, world-class sports, a culture of athletics for every body, and wicked good food!
You’ll explore historic and modern areas, going by the timeless Fenway Park and Boston University’s iconic and innovative Jenga building.
There are a few opportunities to see several of the cities best views, depending on the day.
We'll also stop at 3-5 local food businesses while surrounded by public art, historic community gardens, famous music venues and more.
You’ll hear about the people who made history here through food, creating gardens to feed the community through war, creating the food systems in 1776 that fed the revolution against Britain, starting the first graduate study of gastronomy in the nation, and now feeding everyday families, professionals, students, and those of all economic levels here today!
Some of these community members have gone on to form bands like Aerosmith, New Edition, Boston, and so many more. And the music culture has even come back to food through rock and roll ice cream innovators honoring our unhoused community members like Emack and Bolio’s (their food was even blessed by the Dalai Lama!).
With shared plates and some individual orders, food costs are pay-what-you-can as we go, and you can expect $15-20 of food each. Tipping your guide well at the end allows us to pay for people to join in a spirit of mutual aid with their food costs covered (and to be able to eat as a guide too)!
In the morning tour, we will take the express train for 5 minutes from Boston Landing to Landsdowne very near to where we started, or continuing on to Back Bay or to the end of the line at South Station getting in by 12:45. In the evening tour, we’ll finish in Allston where you can check out some live music before taking the train back, or taking other modes of transit (green line, bus, or rideshare).
