Tour description

Join me in exploring objects in the British Museums collection that showcase aspects of the histories of African and African Diaspora peoples and cultures.

Africa's rich cultural heritage and histories are represented at the Museum both in Africa (Room 25), The Sainsbury Galleries, ancient Egypt and Nubia (Room 4) and across the galleries. Join my tour, developed in collaboration with community members, to explore their personal selection of objects ranging from the ancient world to the present day. On this tour I will give detail to the hieroglyphics of the Rosetta Stone, the brass head of the Ooni of life and explain the Kifwebe masks from the Congo, which represent spiritual beliefs and societal structures.

I would be delighted to have you join my tour where having completed my tour you will have a greater understanding of the history of African history through interaction with artifacts, sculptures and ancient writing systems at the museum.
