Tour description
Discover the myths, legends, and dark tales of Zagreb on this fascinating walking tour! We begin at Manduševac Fountain, where the city’s founding legend comes alive, then visit the magnificent Zagreb Cathedral, uncovering the legends that surround it.
Stroll through Dolac Market, once home to herbalists and secret rituals, and feel the shadows of the past on Tkalčićeva Street, where myths and nocturnal creatures once roamed. Cross the Krvavi Most and hear stories of violent clashes, murders, and dark tales of witches connected to the turbulent past of Gradec and Kaptol.
Then step into the mysterious Grič Tunnel, a hidden underground passage full of secrets and legends.
We stop in front of Lotrščak Tower to enjoy the view and hear tales of the tower and city walls, once guarding Zagreb from thieves, witches, and other dark creatures lurking in the shadows.
At St. Mark’s Square, uncover tales of power, justice, and old witch trials. The tour reaches its dramatic climax at Kamenita vrata, where the statue of St. George slaying the dragon and the nearby old pharmacy set the stage for witches, hidden rituals, and mystical stories. Finally, we’ll return to Ban Jelačić Square, leaving you with unforgettable memories and a deeper, more mysterious side of Zagreb seen through a local’s eyes.
