Free walking tours in Budapest

This is an essential tour, not so much for the route, but for the detailed explanation of how Communism has shaped Hungary. Zsoka her researched the topic deeply and presents the information in a dynamic way. This was my favourite of the three tours I attended.

Gergo was very helpful and enthusiastic during our tour. We get wiser by many details not available in guidebooks. He offered to take a rest when we seemed to be a little exhausted. I can recommend him with good heart.

Gabriela was really entertaining and offered us cool details of the city and its history, all done through riddles and puzzles. It’s the perfect tour if you are a bit of a nerd (like myself) and/or have teens.

The tour was great! It was fun and interesting because of our very motivated, kind and lovely guide Betty. She is sooo experienced and gave us a lot of local advices. We loved her structured and brilliant style of communication. Thats why we'll keep a lot from these hours.

I want to thank Tamas for our great tour! We visited spots that are hard to reach from the city. Furthermore, these are unique places and Tamas gave us detailed stories and views of a different angle. We finally caught the children railway in time at Normafa. A really cool neighborhood for a chilling out. Tamas has serious background knowledge and likes conversation and questions.

The tour with Bianca was exactly what we wanted to do. She was able to easily adapt to our own interests and to the knowledge we previously had about Budapest, which made the tour feel really personal for us. I also really liked the way how she presented the information - varied and exciting, with plenty of breaks to let it all sink in while building on that later over the tour. Alltogether, we were able to get a picture of the old and the new Budapest, of the way of life, the artistic style and the cultural peculiarities. Also, her recommendation list at the end was the cherry on top. Great job, can definitely recommend.

Es war eine super Tour !!! Vor allem die Zeit mit 7:30 sehr gut, da es im Sommer noch angenehm kühl ist und wenig Leute unterwegs sind. Elisabeth ist ein super Guide mit viel Wissen und einigen Insiderinformationen. Gerne wieder!!!! 10/10

Andor showed us the beauty of Pest and provided us a lot of information, inlcuding a document with extra information(, which makes us looking for tiny statues the rest of the days ;)). We did a lot of free walking tours before, but we where never bored during this one, definately a recommendation!

I really enjoyed the tour with Tamas because he took us to many hidden gems, that really helped understanding how historical events happened. Tamas' tour showed many places of the communist area and he explained many interesting historical details connected with the places that we were visiting. I have done some other tours in Budapest, and they normally take people to similar touristic places, but Tamas tour helped me to understand these historical events through the eyes of daily life in off the beaten path locations, which I found very refreshing. Throughout his tour on the Buda side, I discovered surprising facts and a very beautiful area with historical and social places only locals know. I recommend Tamas for people that want to have a real insight into life during the communist area, as well as having a wider perspective of the history of Budapest. Tamas was very helpful answering questions related to his tour as well as other questions about history and art, so I really recommend him.

Make sure you don’t miss this tour if you are in Budapest. Kata is an excellent guide and her tour covers all sites of Buda Castle and much more. She is very enthusiastic and since she is a local she knows a lot of fun facts and exciting stories about this district and Hungarian history. I really enjoyed exploring Buda Castle with her, it was a fun way to get to know better this area. This walk is an absolutely must!

George is an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable not only of the Hungarian history but world history. He takes you though the most important areas of the city and provides detail information about each place. His enthusiasm and commitment to his job its reflected throughout the tour. I had a wonderful time! It was my first experience with urban sketching and I fell in love with this way of mindful exploration of my surroundings. Buda Castle is beautiful and Cecilia made me feel very comfortable to express myself through sketching. Thank you Cecilia, and I will be back for more sketching walks!

La mejor guía del mundo

The best walking tour I've been to so far!!! Normally they‘re not so personal and everyone is just listening to the guide. But with Betti the atmosphere was so relaxed. We were walking through the city, she showed us all the important places there, told us about them and everyone asked their questions. She also recommended us bars and restaurants at the end. I‘ve visited some of them and they‘re great and affordable. So if you‘re in Budapest, I would highly recommend to participate at this walking tour!!!

Super Guide interessante Stories

Matthew was really friendly and adapted the tour to our interests. He explained clearly the Hungarian history and was really open to all our questions. He highlighted interesting events from the past and also modern from times. Thanks for having us! :)
