Essential Free walking tours of Cairo

We had a good time with Mohamed, he was very knowledgeable of Egyptian history and pyramids. We learnt a lot from him. I was happy with his communications, once I booked the tour, he reached out to me and sent meeting location. The tour started on time. All in all Mohamed did a good job.

It turned out to be a nearly full day tour with visits to 2 pyramids and a camel ride to a panoramic viewpoint for photo-shooting. Mohamed was very knowledgeable about the history and I learned a lot from him. As a solo traveler, he helped take many pictures of me which was very much appreciated.

Islam is a skilled guide with a lot of knowledge to share, not only about the places we visited but also about the religion, Islam. Unfortunately, the area where we were supposed to have the tour was chaotic and crowded when we were there, and the guide felt it was not safe to continue the tour, so it was canceled. For that reason, the tour did not fully live up to expectations, even though the guide was very competent and a pleasant person.

This is a great tour to see many of the top sights in Cairo. The churches and history behind Old Cairo is fascinating, and Mohamed does a great job of explaining all of the context and the local architecture. We grabbed a convenient quick lunch and then also had a good time touring the Citadel and Mohamed Ali mosque. Mohamed was very organized throughout the tour and is so knowledgeable about the history, he always welcomed questions and was great at answering all of them. highly recommend Mohamed's tour, its totally worth the time

Islam is a great guide, he shared lots of valuable information not only about the area of the tour and the social contexts behind it, but also more broadly about visiting Cairo and things to watch out for. Mohamed Youssef was an exceptionally great guide who had everything under control from the very start of the tour until the last participant had made it home. He arranged metro tickets for everyone, organized minivan transportation between the attractions, and after the tour he patiently waited until each participant had been picked up by their Uber. Mohamed has an incredible amount of knowledge about the places he shows us. He also shares a great deal about Egypt, the country’s history, and Islam. This is valuable information that makes sightseeing much more than simply looking at landmarks. You receive excellent background information about every location, and you are guaranteed to remember the tour for a long time! Mohamed spends almost his entire working day on this tour, so you truly get to see a lot. I highly recommend this guide!

Fantastic tour with Sherif. He really knows his stuff and is an entertaining and informative guide. We had two sixteen year olds with us who were very engaged throughout. He gave us great tips, protected us from being ripped off and arranged for us to see the inside of a pyramid for free. He also went out of his way to make sure we got the best photographs. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour. Seeing the pyramids, the sphinx, the dessert and everything else surrounding this amazing place was a privilege.
