We had been now to Funchal twice during our stay on the island and did the tour at the end of the second day. Before the tour we were clueless about the history but now we feel like we've discovered a new appreciation for the city and its people. The history of the island, the different reigns and the hardships due to the environmental disasters - now we look at Funchal and Madeira with even more appreciation and respect than before. Eduardo is passionate about the things he has to tell, makes sure to connect to his group and gives information in the right amount at wonderful and interesting locations.

She was very kind, shared local cookies (but perhaps should consider sharing only a few per person than a bag I don’t want her to spend so much money on us) and thoughtful, one thing to consider other guides have done is to share a Google link with all of their recs but she did it verbally. I can tell she has fallen in love with Madeira and continues to learn about it each day.
