Tim gave an excellent tour of Haarlem! He was knowledgeable, took us to unique places in the city and gave us lots of tips and stories. We had a small yet diverse group and he answered all of our questions and made us feel very welcome in his city! We are so glad to have chosen to do his tour! Could not have been happier with Tim's tour. He was informative, entertaining, and engaging. We definitely would not have learned as much about Haarlem's history and architecture, or seen a couple of the hidden gems he led us to, if we'd settled for a self-guided tour. The walk was healthy but not strenuous; a couple with a baby carriage had no problem keeping up. Do not hesitate to book this - you will not be disappointed.

Tim is super enthusiastic about Haarlem and can't wait to share about his home city with everyone. In addition to historical content, he also shares (generously) about Dutch food, drink and culture. I had a lovely time.

I was impressed with Tim’s tour that he has prepared around the town of Haarlem both in a logistical way, and in a creative way. He’s formed a narrative or monologue around the nature of the town and its residents that I loved! He also provided personal stories, and a special treat or two at the end of the tour. Tim was awesome!

Tim was one of the best walking guides I’ve had, and I’ve taken a lot of walking tours. He is charming and he’s funny. He brought lots of treats and drinks kept everybody entertained and even gave up his umbrella to some young ladies in the pouring rain, and he got soaked. I highly recommend this walking tour with him.

Tim was great. He is a native of Haarlem and you can tell that he is proud of his city and passionate about sharing its history and cultural with others. If you want to get a feel for a typical Dutch town close to Amsterdam you couldn’t do better than joining Tim on this two hour tour of Haarlem.

Very prepared lots a little surprises in a lot of enthusiasm

I was so impressed by this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I have taken many Guruwalks in the past, and this one was my favorite so far. It was fun, fascinating, surprising, and very professional. Tim was very well-prepared and also responsive to WhatsApp. In addition to facts and stories, this tour included so much more. I was especially impressed by Tim's insights into the culture and values of Haarlem and the Netherlands in general. For example, we learned how Calvinism impacted Dutch architecture and how geography impacted religious tolerance. We also experienced a borrel and learned about the modern habits of the Dutch. Tim was funny, personable, thoughtful, and deeply knowledgeable about his hometown. We left with wonderful suggestions of other fun things to do in Haarlem and an enriched appreciation for the place. My expectations and hopes were far exceeded. If you are reading this review, take the tour!!
