Thyl is very knowledgeable about Silves history. I would recommend taking the tour to learn the basics, see the main sights and walk through neighborhood streets you may not visit on your own.

The Guru walking tour in Silves was a big surprise. Silves is quite small, but the guide knew many historical facts and fun other comments worthwihle mentioning. Big recommendation for everybody visiting Silves!

We followed his recommendation and had a lovely meal at Sergredo dos Mouros. Excellent Portuguese tapas platter. Superb service from personable staff/owners. Thank you.

This was an absolutely brilliant walking tour, both myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed it. Thyl was very informative, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. A great guide we learnt lots about Silves that we would not have done had we not done the walk, from secrets to legends to history all rolled into one. The walking tour is a must do! had the absolute pleasure of joining Thyl’s free walking tour of Silves, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. Thyl is incredibly knowledgeable and made a subject I was a complete novice in feel accessible and alive. His storytelling wove together facts and personal anecdotes that made me appreciate Silves and Portugal as a whole all the more. He was also kind enough to share thoughtful recommendations from scenic drives to a where we could find a good vegetarian meal. Highly, highly recommended

Had a lovely tour with Thyl today, on a more personal way than expected, which was great, as I felt I could ask lots of questions, which is what I typically wouldn't do if in a larger group. The walk itself was not difficult with many stops along the way. We were provided with the opportunity to ask questions along the way.
