Ethnic Neighbourhood Walk - Thorncliffe Park
Tour description
Ethnic neighbourhood tour
Okay , so everyone says Canada is a country of immigrants and most immigrants come to the Greater Toronto Area ( GTA ) but what does this mean to you ? Join me for a walking tour of Thorncliffe park drive and see the daily family hustle bustle of a Canadian family .
We will be walking in one of the most densely populated immigrant areas of the city and talking about the residents and the services the various levels of govt provides . We will be walking thru and seeing the shopping , working , playing and community networking options available to families that help them integrate into the mainstream society.
Learn how this area transformed from a horse racing track where betting on horses was the norm to one of the most densely populated areas in Toronto . This walk is best combined with a visit to the Aga Khan Museum .
We end this walk at a bus stop and you can catch a direct bus (15 mins bus ride) to the Aga Khan Museum . Most people do this walk in the morning and then the museum right after that .
Most similar tours cost $20 per person and while there is no charge to join my tour , your tips keep me motivated to bring you more such ventures . Tips are greatly appreciated.
