Definitely book this tour the first day you arrive in Lyon! Betrand, our guide was amazing! So kind and knowledgeable about the city and history of Lyon. Although the tour was only 2 hrs, he has enough information to keep you fascinated with Lyon history and culture for many more hours! He guided us through old town (Vieux-Lyon) and across the Saone river to the newer Lyon centre ( known as the Presqu'ile between the Saone and the Rhone rivers). Betrand, a native of Lyon, was very passionate about his city being much better than Paris (we agree! 😋), especially regarding the food! He gave us great tips on where to eat & drink vs where to definitely not drink and eat! We appreciated that information so much!!! In fact, we took his recommendation for best local food and had an amazing bouchon lunch immediately after the tour. You will have to book the tour to find out where! The only downside to our tour, was a large group of Italian tourists that continued to talk while he was speaking. There were several private traboules that he graciously showed us on the tour. Local residents live here and many signs were posted to please be respectful and silent. He even shhh'd a few times! But they did not comply. Very sad about that. I highly recommend this tour!

Great tour. Great guide. Ryan sent text introducing himself with directions to meeting point the night before. Communicated again before tour began to remind us about meeting point. Ryan was friendly and welcoming as the tour began. He worked hard to keep us in the shade on an extremely hot day which was greatly appreciated. He showed us many historical sights and told interesting stories about their backgrounds and history. Even at the very end of the tour he offered to take pictures of anyone interested at a nearby fountain which was again greatly appreciated. After tour was over he texted some pics he took of the group. Ryan did an absolutely great job and I highly recommend his tour.

Un recorrido muy interesante con una guía muy agradable. Acudí al tour con alumnos de cocina, y la guía (además de los lugares emblemáticos del Vieux Lyon previstos en el trour) nos condujo a varios sitios interesantes relacionados con la gastronomía de la ciudad, de manera que les resultase lo más provechosa posible. ¡Un tour muy recomendable!
