Hola! My name is Alberto and I would love to show you my city! I was born and raised in Madrid, but after 18 years I left with a basketball scholarship to the US, where I have resided over the last 6 years. Now I'm back in my beloved city and I want to share it with you. I am a very fun and extroverted person and I love traveling (28 countries and counting!) and interacting with people from all around the world. Let me show you why Madrid is one of the top capitals in the world!

About the tour

Do you want a different approach to a walking tour? Do you like free food samples? Then this is your tour!

Join me in discovering Madrid in an unconventional way - from new to old!

The tour will start in Puerta de Alcalá, the iconic gate that used to give access to the walled city of Madrid. For the first half of the tour we will be exploring the city’s newer buildings and monuments - those from the Borbones dynasty.

As we progress throughout the tour, we will go deeper into the history and culture of this wonderful city and learn about Madrid de los Austrias, the oldest quarter in the city. We will finish the tour in Palacio Real, the palace that sits where the city’s first building once was.

Fuente de Cibeles, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza de la Villa, Catedral de la Almudena… The list goes on and on. From the impressive sights to the fascinating stories, this tour will captivate your attention from the very beginning.

To sweeten and enhance your experience I will provide some free typical sweets and candy from Madrid and Spain that will give you a taste of one of the best gastronomies in the world.

Madrid is ready to be discovered. What are you waiting for?

The concept of a “Reverse” tour was interesting to me. During the tour I was able to understand why Alberto chose to do depict his city in this manner. The tour itself was very interesting and informative. It is very clear that Alberto is an intellect. He provided visual aids which help more than you realize. I had other tours in Madrid and I annoyingly answered all their questions because I remembered Alberto’s visual aids. I recommend you take this tour on your first day in Madrid. You will be able to know Madrid’s history and buildings before you spend time in the city. One other thing I appreciated about Alberto’s tour was that he asked if there was anything he needed to know before the tour ( hearing impairments or ambulatory issues). Although, my friend and I were fine, this is a question that is often missed with guides. I was very happy with this tour and would recommend Alberto to anyone wanting to know the fascinating history of Madrid. Gracias por todo Alberto!

Alberto was a great tour guide! Alberto filled the group in with the necessary history of madrid but also a ton of really cool secret facts. We really loved the tasty treats he showed us that were very local that I wouldnt have known of otherwise. Being an expat here with family visiting, I thought I knew everything already but I was so wrong! His english is perfect and his passion for his city shines through on the tour.

Alberto is an amazing guide! We only had one day left in Madrid and were able to book him last minute for a walking tour of the city. We have been on many walking tours in cities around the world and really enjoyed Alberto’s detailed tour. His route took us through many sections of the city, provided history that enabled us to better understand Spanish culture, and was thoroughly entertaining. He was kind enough to stop in at a few shops and help us order food along the way. We highly recommend Alberto to anyone looking to explore Madrid!
