Hola! My name is Alberto and I would love to show you my city! I was born and raised in Madrid, but after 18 years I left with a basketball scholarship to the US, where I have resided over the last 6 years. Now I'm back in my beloved city and I want to share it with you. I am a very fun and extroverted person and I love traveling (28 countries and counting!) and interacting with people from all around the world. Let me show you why Madrid is one of the top capitals in the world!

Tour description

Do you want a different approach to a walking tour? Do you like free food samples? Then this is your tour! Join me in discovering Madrid in an unconventional way - from new to old! The tour will start in Puerta de Alcalá, the iconic gate that used to give access to the walled city of Madrid. For the first half of the tour we will be exploring the city’s newer buildings and monuments - those from the Borbones dynasty. As we progress throughout the tour, we will go deeper into the history and culture of this wonderful city and learn about Madrid de los Austrias, the oldest quarter in the city. We will finish the tour in Palacio Real, the palace that sits where the city’s first building once was. Fuente de Cibeles, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza de la Villa, Catedral de la Almudena… The list goes on and on. From the impressive sights to the fascinating stories, this tour will captivate your attention from the very beginning. To sweeten and enhance your experience I will provide some free typical sweets and candy from Madrid and Spain that will give you a taste of one of the best gastronomies in the world. Madrid is ready to be discovered. What are you waiting for? IMPORTANT - Please read: Due to the Covid-19 measures, please bear in mind the following: - Masks are mandatory throughout the whole tour. - You must maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter between you and others. - Tours may not have more than 10 people (including me).

My husband and I highly recommend this tour. We are return visitors to Madrid and while we recognized some of the stops on this tour we were definitely introduced to new one´s. Alberto was an excellent tour guide. He is very fluent in English (having lived in the USA for 5 years) and super knowledgeable about Madrid both past and present. We covered a lot of ground and quite a few centuries of history in 3 hours. Truthfully the time flew by. Alberto filled the time with interesting tidbits about Spain (and Madrid´s) social life and customs. The stories he told about events in Madrid´s history were interesting and often related to the architecture of buildings on the tour. We looked up and we looked down and each time discovered something we hadn´t seen before. Thanks to him we saw Madrid in a whole new way. Take his tour and you will not be disappointed. I know that we weren´t.

Wow, what a great tour! Alberto is super approachable, considerate and friendly! He made sure to adapt to the clients and took the time to listen to our needs before starting the tour. During the tour, he provided a lot of interesting information with the help of visual aids and fun facts that made the tour light-hearted and fun! To top it all off he offered samples of food, yum :) I would absolutely recommend Alberto! By combining humor and knowledge he will make learning about Madrid’s vast culture and architecture a memorable experience :)
