Hi everybody! I am Rubén, guru from Madrid ;), I am 23 years old, I like to be named Rubens, I consider myself a genuine "cat"(autochthonous person from Madrid). I am a funny guy, I consider myself close to people and I love to exchange opinions with travelers, since they can bring you experiences without having traveled outside of Madrid. I have traveled in Europe and that has helped me a little to love this work, because in every corner there is always a story to tell and I think Madrid is a perfect city to teach all kinds of tours. It is a city full of life where everyone feels at home, for me is the best city in Spain and one of the best in the world. I have experience as a local guide, but I have a lot of passion about my work and I like to teach and explain events, for me it is the ideal job. That's why I think being able to work in my own city of something I like as a local guide is a privilege.

About the Tour

This tour reveals in several secret spots the origin of the city, it is a very nice tour in which you will see a lot of places and monuments scattered on a route that runs through the old heart of Madrid or ''Magerit''. It is a city of 1200 years of history that began in a small Arab fortress and has ended up being one of the most metropolitan cities in the world with approximately 3 million people. How has it evolved so much? Find out with Rubens. Few cities in the world have an evolution as varied as "Magerit". Although it is a route based on the Madrid of the Austrias, you will see places of the early days of Madrid when it was a small village, you will also see buildings after the monarchy of the Austrias as the Royal Theatre. Many funny characters have passed through here, very funny characters.... We will talk about kings, food, customs, legends.... With a particular touch of humor from Ruben. At the end of the tour, you will have known several secrets that neither Madrid people know. Are you ready? Among the places to be visited are: -Puerta del Sol -Plaza Mayor -Cava Baja de San Miguel -Plaza de la Villa -Almudena cathedral -Royal palace -Plaza de Oriente
