Tour description

Santillana del Mar is one of the most beautiful medieval towns not only in Cantabria, but also in Spain. The most visited town in this region. It seems anchored in time. With an impressive patrimonial wealth. One of the towns with the highest artistic-historical value in Spain. Everything in Santillana del Mar is a monument that deserves to be visited and tasted, since in addition to its alleys, mansions, palaces and collegiate church, Santillana is a perfect place to get lost among the numerous artisan workshops that continue to work under the same techniques of hundreds of years. We will start from the Plaza Mayor, from the arcades of the Town Hall, where we can appreciate the beauty of this singular square and its two main buildings, the Torre de San Borja and the Torre del Merino: why are they different and what was their function? with us you will know. The importance of its history is reflected in the numerous coats of arms that the nobility displayed on the facades of the palaces that flood the town. From here and along the main street of the town we will head towards the Collegiate Church, a landmark of Cantabrian Romanesque and which according to tradition houses the remains of the young Juliana de Nicomedia, martyred by her own father. Before arriving at the collegiate church, we can admire all the architectural quality of the many large houses that will surprise us along the way, such as the Torre de los Velarde, the Casona de los Hombrones, the Casona de los Quevedo or the Casona de los Cossío, all residences they of the old regional aristocracy, since Santillana was one of the most important nuclei of the well-known as Asturias de Santillana. We require that registrations must be prior to control the number of attendees. Also because we understand that large groups impair the quality of the visit, due to walking in the city, entry to the places that we include ...... Insisting that being limited places, a NO PRESENTATION, means damage to the person in charge of accompanying the visit, who makes it their job. It is important to note that the visit is made exclusively in Spanish, the language of most of the participants. Doing it in two languages would not be positive because we would exceed the estimated time. Visits are not suspended, except for "weather alert", but it is advisable to be provided with adequate equipment in case there is a risk of rain or some cold. We make personalized group or private visits, adapting to the tastes and needs of a group of friends, family groups, etc. Different times than those proposed, departure places, too, as indicated. Various tours, adapted to specific and specific topics (architecture, literature, sports, gastronomy, nature and hiking). In the case of exclusive or private visits, it is necessary to request them in advance, in order to have sufficient staff. Corporate social responsibility: "Your contribution is for more" …… .Help, cooperate, do a little for others. We dedicate a part of the benefits that your event can generate, for social assistance. We are sure that this will make participants feel positive.
