Andy is a wonderful and dedicated guide. He not only know the history of Hongkong very well but also shared his valuable personal experience with the city, including the perspective of change that has been happening to Hongkong in recent years. The tour was well-designed and I am very thankful to Andy for encouraging us to visit the Hindu temple although it was heavily raining. He spent more time with only two of us than was provided for the tour. We really appreciated this. Andy has also recommended us great places to eat and local bakery - I wouldn’t have gotten there by myself. I recommend this tour to everyone who would like to get a good understanding of quite tangled history of Hongkong and feel more local in this huge and multicultural city.

Alice, the tour guide, is a force of nature: full of energy, passion and character. A Hong Kong native, she has lived through the huge changes in Hong Kong’s relationship with China and brings plenty of personal stories and family anecdotes. The tour is simple and relaxed: a few landmarks, with history and her own reflections woven into them. Not a long or ambitious tour, but Alice’s passion makes it special. Highly recommended!

A highly enjoyable walk. Christina’s tour is so much more interesting than the typical hong kong island history and tourist places tours. She explains how real working class people live - the cashiers in the shops, people you see selling food on the streets. We were able to enter buldings to see them from inside, to understand what poor people’s appartments and conditions look like. Everything is very different compared to what is visible from the streets. It’s a genuine attempt to show and explain how HK works far away from the financial centre and tourist areas.

The forgotten: The poor side of hong kong

This tour was right up my street. More about modern Hong Kong with a mix of history to give it context. Susanna did a great job of answering questions and although the tour is over 2 hours long there was a lot of resting stops.

We were extremely happy with our 2 hour walking tour. It was a hot day, so any longer would have been a struggle. Ice was fabulous - very friendly and informative. Only suggestion is form of payment - we had to get cash out especially. It would have been good to know in advance that I could “tip” using credit card. Thanks

My husband I took a walking tour today with Ice. She was bright, friendly and very informative with the information she’s give us including her personal background story. She was also very passionate about telling us the history of Hong Kong. It helps that she’s a local and answered all then questions we had. We highly recommend her and this tour!
