Ciao! Welcome to Florence, city of Art, History and Culture. I want to tell you about this city from its origins through the places and the names of those who made it the wonder it is today. We will explore the city with its squares and its historic buildings, through its works of art, its legends and its views and even its flavors! Ah, I'm Vincenzo, and I'll be your guide (authorized, beware of imitations). See you soon.

About the tour

Ciao! I propose you a different guided tour of Florence. We will discover the history, of course, and also part of the art of Florence, but this will only be an outline because we will focus on the anecdotes, legends and curiosities of this city.

We will start from Piazza Santissima Annunziata where we will see how the first civil orphanage was born, not related to the church and we will also see how a renowned painter has made a spite of the monks of the convent.

We will move to St. Mark's Square, where Cosimo the elder de Medici has spent a fortune, a bit because in good faith a little because deceived.

There will also be a visit to the cathedral square that hides many legends, a bit fruit of imagination of the Florentines of the past but still very cheerful and interesting.

Moving on to the church that was a barn we will once see how Donatello helped a friend save his reputation in exchange for a simple dinner.

We will see the mistreated statues in Piazza della Signoria. We then moved to the Pontevecchio where many centuries ago the Florentines repayed the Pisans for a wrong that we will have seen at the cathedral.
