Local Food and History Tour of Bucharest with Local Foodie
Tour description
During this experience, we will be exploring Bucharest, its history, and some of its most popular street food places.
Join us on a unique walking tour that blends the flavors of traditional Romanian street food with the rich history and culture of Bucharest. From beloved local neighborhoods to iconic landmarks, this experience offers the best of both worlds: tasting authentic snacks while uncovering the fascinating stories behind the city’s history, architecture, customs, and daily life.
We’ll start in a neighborhood locals love, where daily life unfolds in family-run bakeries, cafés, and cherished places that have shaped local routines and memories for generations. You’ll try a variety of local favorites: Romanian snacks, traditional pies, artisan chocolate, coffee, and cakes from one of the city’s oldest sweet shops.
As we walk, we’ll dive into the history of Bucharest and Romania and explore the city’s most important landmarks and architectural highlights, uncovering what makes Bucharest so unique. Along the way, you’ll also gain insight into daily life, local customs, and how the past continues to shape the city today.
Your hosts are Andrei, a local foodie and guide with a deep love for his city, and Andreea, a historian and guide with a background in Bucharest’s history and architecture. Together, they’ll offer you a relaxed, insightful, and delicious introduction to the heart of Bucharest.
