Hello, I am María, a person who enjoys walking, wandering the streets and getting lost in my city, discovering places, people, projects, businesses and illusions of the people around me. At one point I began to read, learn, study and collect information and curiosities about the city where I lived and where I was born and along with that discovery I began to love it even more to see it with different eyes and it eclipsed me. Now I would like to tell you its history, show you its streets, what it was, what it currently is, the brutal transformation and the revival of its ashes. What do you say ? Do you dare to discover it with me? Welcome to Bilbao. Ongi etorriak Bilbora.
Bilbao, the great transformation.
Tour of Modern Bilbao
We will begin with a short introduction to the history of the city's formation and the industrial past of the city and what happened to bring about this great change.
If you are interested in architecture this is your tourist visit.
We will get to know the most spectacular and innovative buildings that have transformed the city after the inauguration of the emblematic Guggenheim museum.
You will have a connection with the new urban landscape of the city, to perceive in another way what the professionals, architects, landscapers and engineers, who have intervened in this transformation, have tried to convey.
This tour-walk is the result of a study carried out with all historical rigor, on the regeneration plan created for the recovery of the city, called Bilbao ría 2000
We begin at the Euskalduna Palace and we will take a tour of all the emblematic buildings built to carry out this plan, its famous architects worldwide, going through the well-known Guggenheim Museum and we will see the permanent collection that is located outside the museum, ending on the Zubizuri Calatrava catwalk and the Isozaki Atea towers, a long two-hour tour.
