My name is Chris a born and bred cockney from the East End of London. I have been guiding walking tours around the great City of London since 2005 when I qualified as an official City of London guide. I have been passionate about the history of London since I was a small boy and that passion has never died. My interest in the City has enabled me to explore many of the traditions, secrets and eccentricities of the City that most people do not know about and which I can now share with my clients on my walks. I love London, come for a walk with me and let me share my knowledge of the great and beautiful city with you.

Tour description

London - City of Water, Fire and Money! - A walk through the ancient City of London's greatest sights.

Its Springtime and the City of London has lots of events going on and lots of shopping opportunities

Water - London is a City with a rich history founded on the historic port which for hundreds of years was the source of the wealth which financed the growth of the maritime superpower that was Great Britain. Your walk will explore the ancient port area beside the Thames and its most famous bridges.
Fire - has been London's Nemesis at least 3 times and each time London has risen Phoenix-like from the ashes of disaster to even greater glory. Your walk will follow in the paths of the Great Fire of 1666 and the Blitz of 1940/41
Money - For hundreds of years London has been at the heart of the world's financial system. This is where the markets and products which built the world we know today were developed. Your walk will explore the hidden alleyways of the City where these great institutions were born.

During your walk you will travel across 2000 years of history seeing the City of London's greatest sights including an ancient fortress, Roman ruins, magnificent churches, hidden gardens, the site of executions and much, much more. The walk finishes at  the gem that is St Pauls Cathedral.

You will also visit many sights of general interest to the visitor in the great City of London.

The great advantage of taking one of my walking tours is that we will go where bus sightseeing tours can not go.

Highlights include:

  • Tower Hill
  • The Tower of London
  • HMS Belfast
  • London Bridge
  • The Monument
  • Cornhill
  • Mansion House
  • St Mary Le Bow (The Cockney Church)
  • St Pauls Cathedral

Chris is very knowledgeable and passionate about London and so the tour was very interesting. Lots of historical facts and we saw places you would normally just walk past without a thought. He is friendly and open to questions on anything. We would definitely do another of his tours.

Chris took us to places you wouldn’t go otherwise and told us the story behind those places. It was interesting. It was quite a brisk walk so be prepared.

Christopher was fun(even though he didn't think that humour was one of his strongest traits), knowledgeable and very approachable. We had a very good time having him guide us around City of London and share information and tips. We'd definitely recommend him to everyone.
