Hello! My name is Yoko. I'm an official guide in Tokyo. I know my city very well as I've lived here for almost all my life. I know all about our history and culture and I'll be happy to share all with you so you'll take with you a memorable experience from Tokyo, one of the most vibrant cities in Japan.
Welcome to Tokyo!!
How long do you plan to stay in Tokyo? Have you already visited Senso-ji Temple and Shibuya Scramble Crossing?
If you are looking for something other than Tokyo's famous spots, I highly recommend Yanaka!
Yanaka is an area of downtown Tokyo that still retains a particularly strong 60s-70s flavour. It is a temple town centered on the Yanaka Cemetery, while the retro shopping street Yanaka Ginza stretches out, offering a unique combination of tranquillity and liveliness.
During our special itinerary, we'll enjoy visiting some of the more characteristic places in Yanaka:
1- Asakura sculpture museum
*The Tour only gives you that look at the exterior. Those who wish to enter can do it yourself privately after the tour is over.
2- Yanaka Ginza
*The area is lined with shops selling side dishes and souvenirs that have long been loved by local residents and tourists, as well as old-fashioned Japanese confectionery and craft shops, making it a great place to eat and take home souvenirs.
*You can enjoy eating sweets and Crockett etc. Some stores do not accept credit card payments, so it is advisable to have Japanese yen ready.
3- Kannonnji Tsukiji Wall
4- Yanaka Cemetery
One of the largest cemeteries in Tokyo
5- SCAI the Bathhouse
6- Typcial architecture
You will also see many other renovated old houses while walking around the town.
A stroll through narrow streets will reveal many interesting things. why not walk and explore them together?
1 JR Nippori Station North exit ticket gate. 2 I'm wearing a pink scarf.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
