Hi! We are Dominique and Jasmijn, two friends that both live in Amsterdam for about 10 years. We met as students at the Heineken Experience, where we hosted guided tours through the old Heineken brewery for several years. We both finished our studies and started working fulltime. In our spare time, we love to go outside and enjoy the beautiful city of Amsterdam. We want to share this experience with you as well! Hope to see you soon!

Tour description

(Almost) every time when we get around our city, we enjoy our beautiful city again. Therefore would love to share our passion for Amsterdam with you!

During our tour, we will tell you about the rich history of the city. We will start at the Nieuwmarkt and guide you through the old city center of Amsterdam, bring you to and tell you more about the canals and we will end our tour in the true local area, the Jordaan. The area where we spend our weekends, where we would love to go to the terrace or have a coffee with a friend in the morning.

In more detail, we will cover the following areas:

  • The Nieuwmarkt and De Waag
  • Trippenhuis
  • Dam Square and palace
  • The three main canals of Amsterdam: Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht
  • Anne Frank House
  • Local area of the Jordaan (Northern Church)

Along the way, we will also see other historical buildings, interesting features, and remarkable places and we will stop there to tell you about them! In this way, you will experience the different and most beautiful sides of Amsterdam. We are looking forward to showing you around and getting to know you!

She is interested in people and conversation and her open personality make her feel like a friend throughout the walk. Definitely recommend. Thanks, Dominique.

Dominique and Jasmijn are very passionate and clearly had as much fun as we did. Luckily, the group was small which allowed more personal talks between the locations which all of us enjoyed. I can only highly recommend them!

Jasmijn and Dominique were very friendly, lovely guides and had some interesting stories and anecdotes to share. For instance, we got to learn where the Red Light District got its name from and which special relationship the city has with Michael Jackson. Compared to other tours, I also had the impression that it gives a better insight of how the actual day-to-day life of the locals lookes like. Would highly recommend!
