Hello! I'm Christian (Kristen). I'm a proactive pensioner, involved in many cultural and social projects here in Paris. I'm a history buff, with a strong interest in European and French history. I've lived for several years in Paris - at a short walking distance from Montmartre. I've lived in six European countries and visited all of them. I speak fluently English, as I'm British educated. I am a Norwegian-born Italian.

Tour description

A walk through the red light district, but only there. Starting from the theatre end of Pigalle the walk will highlight past and present day entertainment venues.
The guide will explain how Pigalle started and has evolved over the centuries.
The guide will try as much as possible, to point out present-day venues, the type of entertainment it does, and its value for money.
But also places where venues existed in the past but have changed significantly or don’t exist anymore.

It is not a pub crawl, even though we can stop at a bar at the end of the tour, so there is a bit more socializing compared to other tours.
This tour is more indicated for people who live nearby and are curious to know what to do in the evening.

References will be made to the more adult types of entertainment of past and present, consequently, it is advisable that families don’t join this tour. So no children or under-aged adolescents.
About a third of the tour content will have been already presented at the Montmartre-Pigalle tour....for anyone who already has been to the later tour it can get repetitive.

Exceptionally tours can be made in other hours, starting anytime between 18.00 and 21.00 pm. I can also accompany walkers into some of the venues. Please contact me before at, skullitours@gmail.com

The tour will end at Place Pigalle , 600 metres from where we started. There is a metro stop there.

Very nice tour, gave me something to do in the evening. After the beer we had together after the tour, I went to the pub/bar next to the Moulin Rouge (recommended by Christian)and enjoyed myself there !

I liked the timing of the meet up. It gave something to do in Paris in the evening. Travelling by myself is fun but boring in the evening. After eating in the restaurant I don’t like going alone to bars & clubs. I enjoyed myself also when we had a drink in a bar, and the tour was interesting. c.With this tour I was made

Great tour. I didn't know that there was so many interesting things to do in the Pigalle evenings. Very useful, since we live nearby. We’ll go eventually, to the English language comedy show. Then dance at the Cuban bar. Right after the tour, we went to Moon City the swinging sex club, which was full of beautiful people - great fun !

Really enjoyed the tour. A real nice guy. A great variety of sites. Never knew there was so many ‘hidden’ venues, to enjoy an evening. Especially interesting the South Pigalle area. I was surprised by a negative review by some one who claimed he was biased against the LGPT+ community. I asked him about it. He claims there was a misunderstanding and he 100% supports gay rights. I can’t stand bigots, so this was important for me.

If you're looking for someone to tell you about the history and evolution of some famous drag show venues and LGBTQ+ bars - this tour is not for you. The tour guide, while perfectly well intended I'm sure is not very nuanced when he presents the transgender community and some of his jokes made me uncomfortable. A lovely guide overall though, and I really appreciate how much he wanted to share and the chosen topic - I just wish he had more knowledge and was more aware of the stories and the struggles of many places and people he presents in the tour.
