Our visit to Tetouan with Ahmed was truly exceptional, without a doubt one of the best tours we have ever done. We were originally supposed to have Hassan as our guide, but he cancelled at the last minute without informing us, and Ahmed was sent to replace him. In the end, this turned out to be a fantastic surprise! Ahmed was born and raised in Tetouan and knows the city inside out. This was not a standard tourist tour following a fixed itinerary. He took us to places we would never have discovered on our own, places that most tourists probably never get to see. Thanks to Ahmed, we were able to discover the authentic side of Tetouan and gain a real understanding of the city. We spent three hours with him, and the time flew by. His knowledge, passion and personal connection to Tetouan made the experience truly special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the real Tetouan beyond the usual tourist spots. Thank you, Ahmed, for an unforgettable experience!

Definitely worth doing this tour. We had access to areas I’m sure we would have struggled to find. Mr Hamid our guide was a fountain of knowledge explaining the customs and traditions down to dress codes. It was a very relaxing pace and met many friendly locals en route. Excellent experience.

This was an enlightening tour. We went through multiple parts of the Medina - clothing, jewellery - gold and silver, leather goods, spices and even bread has its own quarter within the medina. Our guide Mr.Hamid was extremely friendly, patient and well-informed. He took us inside a traditional Muslim house and a traditional Jewish house (both now Riad hotels), during the course of the tour. He bought us fresh bread, fresh pastilla and freshly roasted nuts which I thought was very sweet of him. He showed us the water network, the various signs on the ground to identify gates, museums, free water etc. We got to see the old door at one of the gates, the door of the oldest mosque and we passed through so many of gates. We also went to the Sunday Berber market and got us to understand some Berber history. We went through the Jewish quarter and the synagogue, the Tétouan tannery where we got a distant look of the Mediterranean and a good 'sniff' of the smells of the tannery ;-) Everything I had seen I understood better after I did the tour with Mr. Hamid. All in all, what a tour! It was packed with information and sights. A must do, if one wants to properly explore the medina.

Hamid is a truly dedicated and professional guide. Despite the bad weather and the fact that I was the only participant, he still took the time to show me all the highlights of Tétouan’s old medina, without cutting any corners. His dedication and thoughtful explanations helped me truly appreciate the city’s incredibly rich history and cultural heritage. A wonderful experience, and I’m very grateful for his efforts!
