Hi! I'm Gil, a 33-year-old high school history teacher. I have lived in Jerusalem for the past 5 years. With a degree in Jewish history from Bar Ilan University, I've developed a deep appreciation for the history of Israel and Jerusalem. Over time, I've led tours for families, friends, soldiers, and students, and I'm now excited to share my insights with you.

Tour description

Do you want to discover the story of Israel in a unique and fascinating way?
Hi, my name is Gil, I live in Jerusalem and I want to invite you to join me on this walking tour of Mount Herzl, the site of Israel’s national cemetery, and many other important monuments that tell the story of Israel.

Mount Herzl is named after Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, whose tomb lies at the top of the hill. He was a visionary leader who dreamed of a Jewish homeland in the land of Israel. On this tour, we will follow in his footsteps and those of other prominent figures and stories that shaped the history and identity of Israel.

We will visit the graves of prime ministers, presidents, Zionist leaders, and heroes, and hear their stories and contributions to the nation. We will also learn about the different wars that Israel has gone through and the sacrifices and achievements of the soldiers, who fought for the independence and security of the Jewish state.

If you are looking for an unforgettable experience that will enrich your knowledge about Israel's history, don’t miss this opportunity.

This tour is excellent! Excellent content and unique place to visit. Meet those who imagined, fought, and led the country of modern Israel. One of the best cemeteries of this kind i have visited in the world. Also, it is easy to get to this tour at the end of the tram line.

Thanks a lot for Gil to open a new perspective to walking tour in Jerusalem. His approach fixed the puzzle missed by other tours, that focused on the events before modern Zionism appeared. Gil’s professional knowledge and deep emotional connection to the sites we visited added to the value of this tour, which saw the value of the Israeli state, as well as how it was designed, modified and self-reflective from the late 19th century til present day. Gil’s tour definitely have much more potential in the future, one thing that might let his tour be able to catch more attention from walkers, is to summarise the quotes and biblical prophecies, to avoid audiences from losing attention span. Great work and hope Gil can keep educate more people through the tour!
