The Birth of a Nation: Mount Herzl and the Story of Israel
Hi! I'm Gil, a 33-year-old high school history teacher. I have lived in Jerusalem for the past 5 years. With a degree in Jewish history from Bar Ilan University, I've developed a deep appreciation for the history of Israel and Jerusalem. Over time, I've led tours for families, friends, soldiers, and students, and I'm now excited to share my insights with you.
Tour description
Do you want to discover the story of Israel in a unique and fascinating way?
Hi, my name is Gil, I live in Jerusalem and I want to invite you to join me on this walking tour of Mount Herzl, the site of Israel’s national cemetery, and many other important monuments that tell the story of Israel.
Mount Herzl is named after Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, whose tomb lies at the top of the hill. He was a visionary leader who dreamed of a Jewish homeland in the land of Israel. On this tour, we will follow in his footsteps and those of other prominent figures and stories that shaped the history and identity of Israel.
We will visit the graves of prime ministers, presidents, Zionist leaders, and heroes, and hear their stories and contributions to the nation. We will also learn about the different wars that Israel has gone through and the sacrifices and achievements of the soldiers, who fought for the independence and security of the Jewish state.
If you are looking for an unforgettable experience that will enrich your knowledge about Israel's history, don’t miss this opportunity.
