My name is Gerardo and I will be your guide. I love these neighborhoods, where I have lived, worked (usually as a teacher) and studied (I earned my PhD at the Sorbonne) for more than 20 years. I can tell you thousands of things about these streets and the characters who have walked them throughout history and the legends and novels they have inspired, however, there will always be millions left to discover.
Monuments morning and afternoon, at all sites!
It is not easy to face, in a few days, a new city and even less so full of wonders like Paris . Don't be overwhelmed!
This walk will teach you to understand Paris and why it is the way it is. You will never stop learning new things about Paris, but from now on, you will know where to place each new discovery.
The tour will take you through the three oldest neighborhoods, where everything originated and still constitutes its heart today: Les Halles, the Île de la Cité and the Latin Quarter. The Paris we see is the one created by Baron Haussmann in the 19th century. XIX, but, with careful attention, we will discover vestiges from the XVII, the XIV and even much, much earlier.
We are located at the exit of the Pont Neuf Metro (line 7), in the small square in front of the entrance to the Samaritaine department store, formed between Rue de la Monnaie and Rue du Pont Neuf. The three metro exits are very close, but the best is number 1, indicated as “Rue de la Monnaie”. From there you will see the Seine River and me, with a white hat.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
