About the tour

This walk will lead you into the heart of the Renaissance in Florence: through the buildings and works of art visited, you'll be able to know the beginnings of that period as well as the atmosphere and life in the Florence of 14th and 15th centuries. It is the best way to start your visit to the city, or to get to know the most important sites in the historic center so that you can spot those deserving a thorough visit in the near future. Ideal for getting your bearings and having fun!

Places visited during the walk:

1. Ponte Vecchio, Vasarian Corridor

2. Alleyways and hidden squares of medieval Florence

3. Piazza della Signoria, Loggia dei Lanzi

4. Mercato del Porcellino, Palazzo Vecchio

5. San Firenze square, Santa Croce square and church

6. Bargello Museum, Old Florentine Benedictine Abbey

7. Dome, Giotto's Bell tower, St. John's Baptistery

8. Medici-Riccardi Palace, San Lorenzo church and Medici's Chapel

9. Santa Maria Novella square and church

For logistical reasons, the tour must be booked at least 12 hours before the starting time. The tour is guaranteed only for these bookings, having received the final confirmation.

The tour is done only with SMALL groups. Once reached the maximum number of participants the tour will be closed, so you better book now. Thank you.

You can have a thorough, panoramic view of Florence, its churches, towers and bridges, by joining me in the tour:

What's the price?

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give 5, some people give 50, you choose the price.

Reservations in advance are mandatory because if the 'guru' doesn't see any bookings one day, she will not show up at the meeting point. Or if she has too many 'walkers' that day, won't allow you to join without the reservation. Booking is completely free, fast and easy. Book your guruwalk now!

Absolutely loved the tour! It was just 2 of us so it became like a personalized tour. Atahualpa's knowledge of Florence made the tour very interesting. We spent a good two hours walking around Florence and thanka to him, even got the chance to get an amazing view from a church that is only opened on Saturdays and Mondays. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Florence!
