Free Tour of the Old Town of Pamplona/Iruña
Tour description
If you think of Pamplona, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the San Fermin festival, but what if I told you it's a city with more than 3,000 years of history, marked by its strategic location and the countless conflicts that have taken place within its imposing walls?
We'll begin our tour in the heart of the city, Plaza del Castillo, and then visit the most emblematic festival sites: the town hall and Cuesta de Santo Domingo, the Mercaderes curve, and the famous Estafeta street.
We will talk about medieval Iruña, along with the Church of San Saturnino, the Cathedral, and the Rincón de Caballo Blanco.
We'll finish with a short tour of the walls, from the Redín Bastion to the Portal de Francia. Our last stop will be the Archives of Navarre, where we'll give a brief summary of everything we've seen so far, and you'll realize that Pamplona is much more than its festivals.
