Hello! We are a group of guides passionate about our work and in love with the Netherlands. Our motivation is to share with you the history, art, and culture of cities as diverse as they are rich in history as Rotterdam, The Hague, and Gouda. Rotterdam is not only the city with the most important port in Europe, it is also a city that reinvented itself after World War II. The Hague is not only home to the monarchy; it is a city that combines historical monuments, impressive architecture, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere that never ceases to amaze you. Gouda, for its part, has a rich medieval heritage that will transport you back in time...

Tour description

Discover the medieval magic of Gouda with ROTTA TOURS!

Just a few minutes by train from Rotterdam or The Hague, lies a charming gem straight out of a fairy tale: Gouda , a city where Dutch history, art, and traditions come alive at every turn.

In just 1 hour and 30 minutes , we will explore its most emblematic corners in a close, authentic tour full of curiosities

We begin at its imposing Stadhuis , a stunning example of medieval architecture. From there, we'll stroll through the Markt square, famous for its Cheese Market held every Thursday, one of the most traditional and colorful events in the region. We'll visit the Waag , a former abbey and symbol of its commercial history, and the Sint Janskerk , considered the longest church in the country and famous for its unique stained-glass windows.

And since flavor is a must... Gouda is also the birthplace of the Stroopwafel , the delicious Dutch cookie, which you can savor on its streets. We'll also visit the Gouda Museum , where you can learn about its history, its cheese, and its crafts. As a curious fact, we should note that Erasmus of Rotterdam studied here, leaving a cultural legacy that endures to this day.

Gouda isn't just about cheese and medieval architecture: it's a place full of character, history, and soul, perfect for a getaway. Come discover it with us!

From Rotterdam, you can take the train (towards Utrecht or Alphen a/d Rijn) and get off in Gouda in about 20 minutes; from The Hague, the train takes about 25 minutes, with frequent departures.
