Tour description
After visiting the upper town, get ready to explore the Green Horseshoe? Wondering why it's called that? You'll find out with me on this tour!
Let's start with Nikola Zrinski Square, popularly called Zrinjevac, where you'll discover two very interesting things about this square.
We continue towards the square of our first King Tomislav and on the way we pass by HAZU, our Academy of Fine Arts and Sciences and Bishop Strossmayer Square.
Next to King Tomislav Square, you'll discover the fascinating history of the Orient Express train and see our most luxurious hotel in Zagreb, the Esplanada, as well as the Botanical Garden with its charming pavilion.
We continue along Marko Marulić Square, where the State Archive of Secession-style Architecture is located.
We arrive at the end of the Horseshoe at the Plaza de la República, known for the National Theater and the Well of Life.
Our tour ends with the flower square, popularly named for the huge quantity of flowers sold there, where you will see the first savings bank, now a gallery called Oktogon, two minutes from the main square :)
