Secrets of Kuala Lumpur with a Licensed Local Guide
Tour description
FREE WALKING and Talking ;) tour.
Meeting point : MASJID JAMEK MOSQUE ENTRANCE
Just beside the LRT MASJID JAMEK STATION EXIT ( across the road from the OCBC Bank)
Kuala Lumpur is more than skyscrapers and shopping malls.
On this walk, we step into the streets where tin miners, traders and revolutionaries shaped the city you see today.
The tour takes you from the very heart of the city, where the two rivers meet at Masjid Jamek, to the historic Merdeka Square. From there, we walk along the Sg Kelang—part of the River of Life beautification project—before reaching Petaling Street, the Chinatown of Malaysia.
Along the way, we visit iconic landmarks including
- Masjid Jamek,
- St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral,
- Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad,
- Central Market,
- 18th century shop houses built by the Chinese community and end
- Petaling Street (Chinatown)
As a local guide born and raised in this beautiful city, I share personalized memories and anecdotes about the place I call home, including the struggles and toils of the founding fathers in achieving city status.
There will be many sites perfect for Instagram-worthy pictures, as well as the opportunity to taste local street food and fruits such as durian and mangosteen, at your own cost.
This is a tip-based free walking tour, and guiding is my full-time passion as a licensed tour guide. If you enjoy the walk, tips are warmly appreciated, and your kind reviews and recommendations truly help me continue sharing Kuala Lumpur’s stories.
