I am Keiner José, a local guide from San Basilio de Palenque, founder of the Palenque Tour Represent agency, and a proud descendant of the first free community in the Americas. I grew up surrounded by music, tradition, oral stories, and the strength of our African heritage, which is why I dedicate my life to sharing the true Black history of my people. I am passionate about teaching how we live, how we speak, and how we resist. On each tour, I combine history, culture, music, and real-life experiences so that visitors can feel the Palenquero spirit from within. With me, you will discover the rhythms of the drum, the secrets of the braids, spirituality, the Palenquero language, and the memory of our ancestors. I am a kind, respectful person, proud of my roots. My mission is for each traveler to take away more than just a tour: a living experience of freedom and identity.
El tour lo hizo el hermano de Keiner y el tour ha sido muy superficial y simple. Esperábamos conocer más detalles de la cultura e historia del pueblo después de llegar hasta Palenque, ya que nos es fácil llegar hasta allí. Además, tampoco nos ha contado cosas de su cultura que ponía en la descripcion del tour. Aprendimos más con el chico que estaba en el museo que con el guía. Elegimos a Keiner por la pasión que mostraba en la descripción de Guruwalk y los comentarios positivos de otros turistas, pero Keiner no apareció y envío a su hermano. Es una pena que teniendo la historia tan increíble que tienen, no hayan sabido transmitirla y que nos fuéramos con cierta decepción del pueblo.

Keiner fue muy disponible desde el día anterior al tour, ayudándonos a organizar el mejor modo de llegar allá. Nos contó toda la historia de su pueblo y nos llevó a lugares emblemáticos. Una experiencia profunda y muy distinta de lo que entendemos de turismo!
Keiner is not just a local guide. He is a local and a guide. There is no better way go understant Palenque than through the eyes of someone that was born, raised, lives and creates in the town. Deacovering the history and culture of Palenque with Keiner must not be missed. Totaly recommented.
