This was one of the best tours I have taken. Stella was very knowledgeable and a superb story teller. I learned so much about the history of Vietnam, both recent and from the distant past. Stella answered all of our questions, and was enthusiastic throughout.

Stella was great! She was able to answer all my questions and gave tons of useful information and context. Two things I didn’t know that would have been nice (she let us know these things the night before, but wish the tour page mentioned it): 1. We visited INSIDE the Hoa Lo Prison and Temple of Literature. It mentions we go to these places, but sometimes walking tours just take you to the outside and talk about it. This is what I thought, so my husband and I visited the day before:(. Not a big deal, but wish it had been clear. 2. You will need to pay for the guides entrance into both places (50k and 70k VND, respectively). It’s shared amongst the guests, and it’s not much, but if your group is only 3 (like mine) or less, it could be something to know, so you have enough cash (you don’t always know how big your group will end up being). These things didn’t take away from the excellent quality of information. Highly recommend!

THE TOUR WAS AMAZING !! Stella is so knowledgeble et explained everything so well. This is the only your you should do when visiting Hanoi. Stella was also really kind and funny. 100/10 ⭐️

We really enjoyed this tour with Stella. She was extremely knowledgable and could talk about any detail that we inquired with our many questions. It was also nice to get some more insights about Vietnamese culture and people through her personal experience. We were the only two people in the tour and she adapted the tour to our needs, which was great. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Very informative you about Vietnam and it's past and present times. Stella is a great guide. She contacted me in advance to give clear information about the tour. She led the group through two significant places in Hanoi and told about the history of these places and of the country in total. I liked that she shared her personal stories related to the topic of the tour. She is very lovely, smart and ambitious person and does her job just great.

I had the privilege of going on a walking tour with Stella on my final day in Hanoi, where we visited Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Maison Centrale. It was just me that day, so I would say the tour was in many ways an engaging conversation. As someone from the Middle East who has always been interested in the Vietnam War’s history, I can recognize and identify with many of the characteristics of its history, and it was through Stella that I learned much more about Uncle Ho’s life and how the Vietnamese people persisted through times of great hardship and injustice. Stella’s captivating storytelling, depth of knowledge and personal accounts related from her own family’s background added levels of depth to an otherwise already captivating conversation. Stella expertly bridged the gap between history and contemporary culture in Vietnam, which definitely gives you a lot to think about post-tour. For those seeking to understand contemporary Vietnamese history, particularly from someone so passionate and knowledgeable such as Stella, this is the walking tour for you. We really enjoyed our tour with Stella! It was just me and my boyfriend. The amount of knowledge she shared with us was impressive and we got a lot of authethic insights into Vietnamese culture and history.
