This tour was two cultural rituals that define the rhythm of Iberian life: fado and tapas. One feeds the soul. The other feeds everything else. Fado is Portugal’s most emotional export. It’s not just music; it’s a feeling. A deep, aching longing the Portuguese call saudade — a mix of nostalgia, love, loss, and destiny. Picture this: You’re in a dimly lit tavern. The room falls silent. A singer steps forward, backed by the delicate, shimmering sound of 2 Portuguese guitarras. The first note hangs in the air — raw, vulnerable, almost trembling. Ricardo was awesome explaining the food and the songs. If you’re looking for a cultural experience and not just some food tour, suddenly you understand Portugal a little better. Ricardo also was so knowledgeable about the history of the area as we walked through the historic areas before and after the performance.

Ricardo war ein sehr sympathischer Guide. Es war eine sehr interessante ,informative sowie unterhaltsame Tour, die man nur weiterempfehlen kann. Trotz des schlechten Wetters gingen wir nach dem Fado noch gemeinsam zu einem tollen Aussichtspunkt. Einfach ein toller Abend für uns !

Had a great time with the Tapas love Fado tour with Ricardo. Such a good experience of traditional Portuguese food and music. Something that we wouldn't have done on our own. You should have more of this type of tours for tourists to feel the culture of your country. Ricardo went above and beyond translating the meaning of the songs for us who don't understand the language. We also had a quick stop in one of the Miraduoros. Unfortunately it rained that night. Food is great! We have 3 different types: bacalhau, duck rice and pork with clams and potatoes. Sorry, can't remember the names of the dishes. He also recommended the best Vinho Verde or green wine. We are 4pax in a group and we split the bill - €2l0.50 for each.

Amazing experience with music and good food

We had an awesome night with live music and very tasty food, we had 3 dishes the cod fish was very good the pork dish one of the best I ever had and also a very unique duck rice with chorizo. We had the table right in front of the singers making the experience one and only, we got to see the famous portuguese guitar and the singers were amazing. We were lucky to have a female and a male singers , giving us the real portuguese fado experience. Thanks , Ricardo for this amazing night we loved it.

I really enjoyed this good and fado tour. Just a shame there weren’t more people (for our guru who was excellent). Great food and fado show, and Ricardo explained many things to us to enhance the experience!

Amazing and original portuguese experience!!

We picked the tour due to the minimization of walking due to my wife's mobility issues, plus we wanted to experience a sampling of local cuisine and Fado music. We had a diversified crowd from Raleigh NC, New York City, Bulgaria, Greenville SC, and Melbourne Australia. Ricardo gave us a good history of Fado from the pickup point and we traveled maybe 100m to the restaurant. We shared cheese/nuts/bread, three traditional dishes and two types of wine. It wasn't an excessive amount of food but we don't eat much anyway. If you were very hungry, you would be disappointed. The shared bill for food and drinks was 25 euro per person. We enjoyed two Fado singers (make and female) for about 10 songs. I especially enjoyed the authenticity of the make singer (beautiful voice plus the two guitar players. We finished the tour which took about 2 hours total and a local viewpoint which oversaw the river and bridge. There was almost a full moon on a Saturday night. Ricardo was very attentive, professional, and knowledgeable about all things Fado and Portuguese history. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone and it is suitable for those who are mobility impaired.

Exception tour that combines history, culture and food. Listened to great Fado singers and learned lots about fado culture and Portugese food!

Ricardo made fado alive even before the fado singer song! This tour is perfect if you travel alone and want to try traditional food and meet new traveler's in a save place and share time while learning about the coutry history and enjoy the soul of Lisbon ( Fado )
