Die von Eduardo ausgewählten Restaurants und Bars waren sehr gut. Man hat einen sehr guten Einblick in die portugiesische Küche bekommen abseits der Touristenwege. Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr lecker.
Eduardo took us to some great places and we had great food. A really enjoyable night.
Amazing 😍
Great food/drink tour! We got to try a ton of food at three restaurants and another two(or three) bars. Not only did we get to try a ton of local dishes and drinks, but Eduardo also explained the history/culture behind each dish. Also, loved how detailed his tour description was when choosing this tour. Everything was exactly as promised. Total cost of all food and a ton of drinks was only about 30 euros, as the tour description estimated. Definitely would recommend, especially if you’re new to Lisbon or Portuguese food/culture! Next time I’m in Lisbon, I would definitely do another tour with Eduardo, or maybe even this same one!
Ein gemütlicher Abend! Unser Guide Eduardo hat uns mit viel Herzblut die Geschichte und die Gerichte erzählt!!!!
Great tour with Edouardo, he shared a lot of historical knowledge and took us to great local shops.
Had a great time with the Tapas love Fado tour with Ricardo. Such a good experience of traditional Portuguese food and music. Something that we wouldn't have done on our own. You should have more of this type of tours for tourists to feel the culture of your country. Ricardo went above and beyond translating the meaning of the songs for us who don't understand the language. We also had a quick stop in one of the Miraduoros. Unfortunately it rained that night. Food is great! We have 3 different types: bacalhau, duck rice and pork with clams and potatoes. Sorry, can't remember the names of the dishes. He also recommended the best Vinho Verde or green wine. We are 4pax in a group and we split the bill - €2l0.50 for each.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Eduardo's tour. He took us to really great restaurants, where we were able to taste so many varieties of dishes and drinks, for just around 30 Euros per person total. This was a fabulous deal. In addition, he did a great job explaining the history and cultural significance of our dishes woven throughout a general history of Portugal. We also had a great time with our fellow diners. Compared to other food tours out there, this was great value for the money spent. Would highly recommend!
Amazing experience with music and good food
We had an awesome night with live music and very tasty food, we had 3 dishes the cod fish was very good the pork dish one of the best I ever had and also a very unique duck rice with chorizo. We had the table right in front of the singers making the experience one and only, we got to see the famous portuguese guitar and the singers were amazing. We were lucky to have a female and a male singers , giving us the real portuguese fado experience. Thanks , Ricardo for this amazing night we loved it.
I really enjoyed this good and fado tour. Just a shame there weren’t more people (for our guru who was excellent). Great food and fado show, and Ricardo explained many things to us to enhance the experience!
Ricardo was very attentive to personal food concerns and needs. Very knowledgeable and respectful. Went above and beyond.
A fabulous evening The dinner/music venue was really great! Ricardo is an excellent guide
An incredible culinary experience! We tasted amazing dishes at authentic local tascas and hidden gems, each with its own story. Our tour guide’s Eduardo enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion made the tour unforgettable — they brought the food, neighborhoods, and history to life. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Lisbon like a local!
Ricardo did an amazing job!
This is truly a hidden gem of a tour. Most of free tours are simple walking sightseeing tours, but this one includes eating a progressive dinner at 5 different restaurants/bars. A typical food tour is about 100 euros per person. This trip works out to be half the price including the tip paid to the guide, so it’s a great value. The tour description was a little vague on how exactly it works, so here is the explanation: Eduardo picked out the places and what dishes to order at each place ahead of time. He may adjust the # of dishes by the # of ppl. (The limit is minimum 2 ppl maximum 10 per tour. We had 3 groups = 7 ppl at this tour, a good number that enabled us to order all the dishes Eduardo had picked out originally, and allowed easy conversations between groups.) At each place, he gave them a headsup before we arrived, so the table was set up waiting for us. Eduardo didn’t eat, so he spent the time talking about each dish and how it related to Portuguese history. We shared all the dishes family style, so it’s important that your fellow guests should be polite and respectful in terms of sharing the food, especially if some people liked certain dishes more than others. After we finished at each place, he got the total bill and evenly divided it among the guests. He arranged with the restaurant to accept separate payments, so we paid the restaurant ourselves by credit card or cash. At the very end, obviously we gave him a tip. He clearly did a lot work above and beyond the normal guide for a walking tour, so we gave him twice the tip we normally would for a walking tour. A typical walking tour is basically a mobile lecture, entirely dependent on the guide’s knowledge and ability to speak English (or whatever language the tour is supposed to be), but this tour is more like a blind date + dinner party, so it’s also important what kind of other guests are on the tour. To be honest, Eduardo’s English was not the best (I would give it a 6~7 on a scale of 10), so if this is purely a walking tour listening to him talking, it might be only 3 or 4 stars, but with the food and his weaving the food experience with the history, and the fact we really enjoyed our conversation with the other 2 groups, it made the tour experience the best we have had of all the free walking tours we have had. The only thing I wish were different would be an earlier time slot. He only does it at 7:30 and we did not finish until close to 11 and I was so full that I had trouble going to sleep. If it is possible to do it at lunch time, that would have been even better.
The food, music plus all the info: that Ricardo provided on this tour made it special & unique! Perfect mix of culture and history facts, i loved it.
Eduardo was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations and context for Portugal with its history!
Eduardo was an amazing tour guide. He is very knowledgeable of the history of Portugal and its relevance to food. The restaurants and food were presented through a theme and each theme was greatly represented by the food. Even though the restaurants changes depending on the week, our favourite was the Mozambique piri piri chicken. We recommend this to anyone who loves food and history.
Great tour! We went to a bunch of places and it was the perfect way to start our trip in Lisbon!
We had the best time with Eduardo this walking food tour. We started off late as we didn’t expect traffic to be so bad going into the square we were meeting at as Bolt continued to cancel our rides. Eduardo was patient and waited and continued communication with us the entire time we were on the way. When we arrived, he told us that we were the only people on tour and dove right into an extensive historical tour with regard to the foods we were about to try. Because we were only a group of two he took us to taste 6 different dishes, they were all spectacular and we would only know if we were with a local Lisbon native! The highlight of the tour was the sausage made from duck and chicken! He advised it was a controversial dish but we think it was the highlight of the tour! Eduardo also took us to try Ginja at a local bar which had a hilarious back story with the owners. We would 10/10 recommend anyone to go on this tour as we saw the enthusiasm, the authenticity and the passion Eduardo brings to his tours! We had the best experience, book him right away when you see an opening!
Incredible experience with Eduardo who not only made it possible to try historically relevant and very traditional Portuguese dishes, but was able to provide a tremendous history lesson on its extensive history with his background in anthropology and tourism. I was very pleased with the food, the drinks, the pace of the tour as there was hardly any wait time, and great company. Highly recommend this tour if you're ready to eat and looking to meet others
Eduardo was so enthusiastic. He shared a lot of history and guided us seamlessly from one restaurant to the next. A very comprehensive range of delicious food and drinks. It was fun, thank you Eduardo
Amazing and original portuguese experience!!
Eduardo has a great personality and is very engaging. We enjoyed his commentary and explanations. Some of the food was good, and some was just okay, but that is to be expected on a tour like this. The nice thing is that it gave us the opportunity to try different dishes that we may have otherwise not had had a chance to try. We also enjoyed meeting the other people on the tour. As far as the cost of the food, it was right at the amount that Eduardo estimated, and he's very mindful about that. Overall a positive experience!
