Free walking tours in Hiroshima

Had a wonderful experience today! It was raining so I briefly thought about canceling but I'm so, so glad I went through with the tour. My guide, Cva was fantastic. I have traveled quite a lot through Europe and Asia and I have never met a guide who is this passionate about their job. Cva is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and answered every question I had. His story telling is on point and he explained historical events with accuracy but also made it very easy and interesting to listen to. Especially what impact the nuclear war had on the Japanese. Truly made me shed a tear for the pain they went through. I was also worried that I wouldn't be able to communicate properly due to language barrier but Cva was absolutely fluent in English among many other languages so I felt comfortable asking questions. It was like 7°C, freezing cold yet time passed so quickly and I could barely notice the cold due to how immersed I was in the tour. Remembering historical events and time lines in such great detail and being able to connect them so smoothly in a fun way is truly a talent. I could hear how passionate he was about the history of Hiroshima, he put his heart and soul into each real story. The dark moody weather in a way added to the experience. Met fellow travelers and learnt a lot about the horrors of war. Honestly, money well spent. Will do this again when my friends come here during the holidays. It was a very positive experience. If you need a guide who speaks English fluently, I reccomend this agency, especially guide Cva. God bless!

Really informative tour of Hiroshima's Peace Park, learning about the history of Hiroshima and the impact of the A-bomb. Kitahare walked us through the Park talking about each memorial and its symbolism. Came away with a better understanding of Hiroshima- highly recommended tour.

We did a tour with Cva. He contacted us before the arranged time and was there at the meeting point before the stipulated time. He is knowledgable and has passion for the history in Hiroshima. He shared clearly, spoke in good English and is very open to all the questions we had. There is really no question he cannot answer :) History came alive for us during that 2 hour. We totally enjoyed soaking in the moment of history made alive for us. His advocate for peace is admirable and my family and I wish him all the best for what he aim to do for the future. Our trip with Maria through the history of Hiroshima Peace monuments was extraordinary, better than expected! A knowledgable, respectful and very kind person, who gave us a walk full of historical, cultural and general information. She gave us also a bunch of extra tips to enrich our experience around the city! Highly recommended!

Moe does feel like the perfect guide for this tour. She has personal info to share about the story of the city because all of her family is from there. She's such a joyful soul but also, you can see how hard it's for her to find the right words sometimes (as it is a difficult job). Personally, I loved how close she became to us, she always talked to us while we were walking to the locations, you can see that she cares about all of the people she gets to meet. I did a tour with Cva, he was very well informed and even tho the history of bombing Hiroshima is really dark and gloomy, he made the tour very enjoyable!

If you have any interest in the history of Hiroshima, especially around the atomic bombing, you must attend this tour. This will be the best utilisation of your life’s 2 hours in this city. Cva is a great host, extremely knowledgeable and with a good sense of humour. Highly, highly recommended.
