We really enjoyed this walking tour with Leon, he is very knowledgeable about the history of Leon and Nicaragua in general and took us to very interesting places. We learned a lot about the revolution and Nicaragua's history- highly recommend!

Having already joined Leo's general walking tour, I knew I wanted to learn more. His ability to bring history to life is truly remarkable, and the first tour left me eager to dive deeper into the subject. This tour exceeded my expectations. Not only was it incredibly informative and well-structured, but the conversation with an eyewitness made the experience especially authentic, personal, and moving. The Essential Revolution Tour!

I did this tour after taking the Essential Walking Tour of León, which provided a great introduction to the city’s traditional foods at a local market, as well as the history, and art of Nicaragua and León. That tour offered a great overview of the city in the past and present. The Essential Revolution Tour takes you much deeper into León’s past. This tour stand out to me from many other walking tours I’ve done because it brings history to life by taking you directly to the places where important events occurred. With the explanation from the guide and pictures or murals as reference of the past, you can almost feel the history that happened there. A real highlight of the tour was a 10-15 minute conversation with someone who took part of the revolution. Our guide, Leonel, is also an exceptional storyteller. He presents the information in a clear, structured way that makes the tour easy to follow. It’s clear he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject! The tour also takes you to places you would likely never discover on your own. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone interested in history or for those who simply want to learn more about León roots.

It was the perfect mix, bringing history to life and making the time fly by. I highly recommend this tour. It’s the perfect follow-up to the introductory free walking tour. Whether you already know a lot about the topic or are completely new to it, Leo explains everything in an accessible yet in-depth way. A truly memorable and must-do experience!
