Susanne was very engaging and informative. Her knowledge of the history of Poznan was amazing. We felt that the tour was slightly rushed but she had a lot of information to impart and as there were major road works going on in the old town she had to compete against a lot of noise, which she managed well.

It was a well spent time. Thanks to Dorota now we know lots of facts and stories about Poznań. She took us to places not planed on the tour but also to see places requested by some people attending the tour, what was super nice of her. Thank you Dorota!

Best places to visit in Poznan
Poland has a large number of interesting places, perfect for a tourist break or a few days' holiday. The beautiful city of Poznan in the region of Wielkopolska is a clear example; a town of great beauty next to the Varta River that due to its location in the west of the country - between Warsaw and Berlin - has always been one of the most famous university centres in this part of Europe.
Today this town has a great attraction for visitors who are looking to discover a tourist destination of great interest, with a varied and rich heritage, a great atmosphere and an interesting cultural and gastronomic offer, with dishes as recommended as "Pyry z gzi kiem" or potatoes with cottage cheese, the "Plyndze" which is a type of traditional cake, or the famous "Szagówki" gnocchi, which combines flour and potatoes. If you don't know everything that this great city has to offer, the best way to take advantage of your visit is to sign up for the free walking tour in Poznan, a tour of the essential places to see, the most characteristic monuments and buildings, as well as the most interesting corners of the city. Some of the most recommended stops are the mandatory Market Square, a place of great prestige for the aristocracy of the city, the next Royal Castle and the nearby City Hall, which is now a national museum.
Other points of great interest are the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, the Imperial Castle - the residence of William II - or some of its recommended churches such as St. Stanislaus or the Virgin Mary. Other important points if you have more time are the Adam Mickiewicz University and the Monument to the June, in honor to the workers' protests against the Russian communism.

Thanks to the free tour in Poznan it is possible to enter the most emblematic places of this city; a good alternative for the most demanding tourists who look for an option different from the traditional organized visits.
