Tour description

On the Free Tour through the City Center of Buenos Aires, you will learn about the political and historical perspective of our city. We begin at 3pm our tour at  the front gate National Congress and then walk along the boulevard of Avenida de Mayo with its magnificent architecture.

On this tour, we will talk about the glorious and terrible periods in the history of Argentina, from the Independence through the great Argentinian prosperity of the 1900s to Peronism, the last military dictatorship, and the return of democracy.

After seeing the Evita Peron’s mural at the crossing of Avenida 9 de Julio, we will make a stop to learn about our local culture at the most famous café of Buenos Aires: Café Tortoni

We will finish the Free Tour in the heart of Buenos Aires, the Plaza de Mayo, the center of the city since the colonial period; a place of expression for the people during the most important events of our history.

Victoria was a really knowledgable and informative guide, who spoke very fluent English and knew a lot about the areas visited. The tour doesn’t cover a huge area of the city, but we learnt a lot about where we went.

This was a great way to start our trip in Buenos Aires. We toured the center of the city and learned about the major historical events and stories that made Buenos Aires what it is today. This tour was one of the highlights of our time in Buenos Aires, and that is mostly in thanks to our guide Martin, whose humor, knowledge and perspective enriched the experience.
