About the Guru

I am Rai Gómez, I love the sea, traveling, photographing, eating and smiling, and I've been living for more than 30 years in Santo Domingo. I work as a web designer and in my spare time I collect photographic postcards through my camera. I often go around Santo Domingo discovering unique people and places, and I invite you to discover the secrets of my primate city as a local.

Great tour! Rai communicated with us once we confirmed and on the day of the tour. She arrived at the meeting site before the meeting time. At the beginning of the tour, she explained what we would be seeing. She is very flexible and accommodating. If the site was open and we wanted to enter, we did. When we got to the fort, it was closed, but she asked the guard if we could get a picture and we did. We asked were we could find local items and she guided us there. I recommend the Sunday tour because there is a free concert and food trucks. The tour is in Spanish, but Rai speaks a little English. Rai has a great personality and holds a great wealth of information of the colonial zone. After the tour, you will be able to better appreciate the history of the island.
