Gran Colombia Tours is a travel agency dedicated to offering a different kind of tourism experience. To this end, we take time and care in the selection and training of our guides, so they can provide the best informative and entertaining experience to our customers. As the crux of the tour experience, our guides guarantee our tours are high-quality experiences with activities that encourage cultural immersion and unforgettable memories in a country full of secrets to discover. Our free tours are perfect for when you are traveling alone or in a small group and want to make new friends along the way. Explore the city, meet people from all over the world and have a great time learning. Guides will be waiting under yellow umbrellas at scheduled times and at designated meeting points for all travelers. All free tours are tip-based.

About the tour

Be part of fulfilling experience in Monserrate, the most touristic place of Bogotá, with its official walking tour.

Discover all the places that make this hill a gathering point for both foreigners and Colombian people by visiting its restaurants, coffee and snacks stores, the Basílica and the Stations of the Cross path.

Understand the history of the Sanctuary and the importance of Catholicism for Colombians’ costumes and traditions. Try typical Colombian snacks and plates. Learn about native fauna and flora, and the two means of transport to the hill.

In an hour and a half, our tour guide will explain you how Monserrate became a place of pilgrimage with the construction of its first chapel in 1640 and how, over time, it also became a touristic place due to its outstanding viewpoints of the magnanimity of Bogotá and a hiking destination or a workout zone for those who are into exercising.

You will also make a wish in the wishing well and you will learn and discover all the superstitions, sayings and interesting, fun and most of the time unknown facts about a must-see place of Colombia’s capital.

Our guide will take you around nine stops in which you will have a very complete view of the hill.
