I am Harry, and being a Tour Guide is a massive privilege for me and one I am fervently seeking more of. I genuinely love History and culture both 'high' and pop! To me the stories and sites on this tour can come anywhere from the part of me that loves Early Medieval-Late modern history to Shakespeare and Game of Thrones to Siegfried Sassoon to Vincent Van Gough and Harry Potter (I grew up with it as one of my first obsessions and probably with a few other books have a lot to thank HP for for truly enforcing my love for reading)- and so much more in between! I love London as a whole and have lived all over and done tours of here and food tours of central and the East End so I pride myself on being able to give recommendations all over London (as well as the UK) for all different interests. IF you would like more info on my interests here is some further info but not necessary if you are already interested (or I suppose already certain you don't want to come along!) .... My first love was Arthurian legend and Robin Hood which really just whipped up my passion for medieval history and British history onward. Also being a lover of great television (both what's considered respectable like The Wire and Sopranos but I also love what people call 'trash' reality TV like Love Island and BB which I believe are so popular as they incite emotions we all have but the comfort resides in someone ELSE being subject to them!) The reason I mention all this is because my love for history, artistic genius and the more base impulses came together so well in Game of Thrones- and due to the massive influence on that from British History it made me even more fascinated with aspects, periods or stories I had not formally studied. Equally I am a massive lover of classic literature and so Westminster and it's Abbey (which is not far from being comparable to Paris' Père Lachaise Cemetery because of the amount of juggernauts of yesteryear who are buried there) are one of my favourite spots in London, and always have been, and are always increasingly so as there is just more and more to learn. I love music and have toured Europe and US with a band and, needless to say, love to travel. Really would just love to discuss these passions of mine more as well as find out more about other people and other places.
From the Palaces and churches of Kings and Queens, bloody-tales and ghost stories, resting places of literary greats like Dicken's; or it could be the resting place of some of the greatest and most revered (or, in some cases, reviled) British and English Monarchs of the last Thousand years. Both the residence of current and prior British Monarchs AND also the Prime Minister. The streets that inspired JK Rowling and her world of Harry Potter as well as ACTUAL SIGHTS and places of the films AND BOOKS- (as well as countless other blockbuster classics), monuments to some of the greatest people of history, some of the most beautiful and lauded sculptures and architecture AND one of the greatest collections of classic art anywhere in the world- and that still barely scratched the surface of all that is worth seeing, though I have worked my hardest to pick the best of the best!
Westminster and it's surrounding area is a history and/or culture lover's PARADISE: truly A SYMPHONY OF WONDERS, an almost daunting collection of treasures, stories, intrigue, mystery, and objects, sights, streets, buildings riddled with fascination: The only way you can possibly discover this ridiculously fascinating area of London is with someone who is equally and eternally fascinated by it. Story's, sights and historiws that even the guide still looks on in wonder and discovers more and more stories both facts, fiction and sometimes somewhere in between- and I will always do my utmost to tell which is which!
If you want more than just to be herded to the sights and have facts and dates half-heartedly and woodenly fired at you, you want someone who really loves Westminster and all of London, loves to discover all they can of history, culture and secrets; and more than that is passionate about telling them to others and loves nothing more than to meet new people and talk of this stuff and the other fascinating places that cover this miraculous planet- LOOK NO FURTHER.
It is appropriate for all ages and all temperaments as my interests are VERY broad and eclectic- so I can recommend restaurants, classic literature, pubs to watch football, churches to sit in contemplation, places to see live music and even hills to watch stars come out (though by stars in London I mean either twinkling windows of skyscrapers or the odd celebrity nipping to the shops in shades).
Really do love doing this and while I have my favourite sights and stories- no two tours need be the same as it is my firm belief that the best guides adapt to the feelings of their guests. So, (as long as you don't prefer someone engaged, bored or armed with the most basic facts and a feigned interest) and you appreciate passion, enthusiasm and a real thirst for more knowledge this is for you.
Meeting point: Open in Google Maps
How to find me: Take 'Green Park Exit' out of Green Park Underground Station- directly ahead of the exit path you will see the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain: I will be there with a folder/clipboard, longish curly hair and usually a colourful/dapper shirt!

Harry is a great, interesting guy who is obviously passionate about london history and strange stories. He even added a bit of Harry Potter into his tour! It lasted over 2 hours and he even managed to find me a toilet stop near Westminster abbey. He is just developing his bespoke tour and is willing to deviate to meet your personal interests. Would recommend this tour and harry... give him a try
