Cairo has a lot to live up to; the jewel of the orient, the city of one a thousand minarets and the melting-pot of ancient and modern civilizations are just a few of its monikers.
To take in some of the city's magnitude, take a local walk tour to, Amr Ibn Al Aas mosque, the Hanging Church, the Cave Church, the Fort of Babylon and the Jewish Synagogue).
We visit the incredible
- Hanging Church, In Arabic, Kineeset al-Muallaqa. The Hanging Church, built in 690, in the remains of the two southern towers of the Roman fortress of Babilon and its nave is suspended over a passageway. Then, move to
2. St. Sergius church is one of the oldest churches in Cairo, built in the 4th century A D which became very famous because it was constructed upon the crypt of the Holy Family where they stayed for three weeks during their flight here in Egypt.
