Hello everyone! I'm Rubén, official tour guide and guru of Madrid;), I'm 27 years old, I like to be called Rubens, I consider myself a "cat" (native of Madrid). I also collaborate with friends and family who help me occasionally with reservations. I have a degree in tourism and a history degree halfway through and at the moment I am self-employed. I started to fall in love with the profession in 2019 thanks, in part, to my friend Aurora, but starting in 2020 I worked with arkeotour, which is a company that also helped me a lot, and then in 2021 I started doing the tours on my own and prove. You must keep in mind that Madzguía has only been active for a short time and many times the minimum number of attendees necessary is not reached. Getting started, as you well know, is not easy at all. I am a fun guy, I consider myself close to people and I love exchanging opinions with travelers, since they can bring you experiences without having traveled outside of Madrid. I have traveled a little around Europe and that has helped me a little to love this job, because in every corner there is always a story to tell and I think that Madrid is a perfect city to teach all kinds of tours. It is a city full of life where everyone feels at home, for me it is one of the best cities in Spain and one of the best in the world. I have experience as a local guide, but I am very passionate about my work and I like to teach and explain events, for me it is the ideal job. That's why I think that being able to work in my own city doing something I like as a local guide is a privilege.
Did you know that this was the first public park that was created in Madrid (not counting the retreat that was created for entertainment purposes of the court)? It was opened to the public in 1905. It is located in the Argüelles neighborhood, in the eastern part of the city.
It is a tour that mixes statues from different eras, an Egyptian temple, curiosities, vestiges of the civil war, unique green areas and spectacular views.
Because it was the front line in the civil war, some aspects will be mentioned on the subject, curiosities and secrets of the civil war, as well as the history of many heroes of the 19th and 20th centuries, it is curious, right? It is also called the park of the rebels.

We will start the tour next to the statue of José Gervasio Artigas and we will cross the Parque del Oeste until we reach the Debod temple.
Warning:
It is a tour in which you will walk along the western park ending at the Debod temple, it is approximately 5 kilometers on foot. It is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
It does not include the visit to the temple of Debod, also by waiting in line you can enter at the end of the tour.
For the tour to leave, at least 4 people are necessary.
It is advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes and it is advisable to bring a bottle of water.
