Free cultural and natural tour of Funchal

We will begin this free tour of Funchal by meeting at the indicated time in front of the Chapel of Santa Catarina , located in the park with the same name.

 After a brief introduction, we will take a walk next to the Marina do Funchal and, from this port in the capital of Madeira, we will continue the free tour until we stop in front of the palace-fortress of São Lourenço. This ancient fortress has been built in 1513, and later during the Spanish rule of Portugal.
We will talk to you about the strategic importance of this fort, considered one of the main military enclaves of Madeira.

We will continue the tour through the center of the city talking a little about its nature and we will pass by the Funchal Cathedral , before going down the Avenida do Mar , where we will contemplate the exterior architecture of the Madeira Assembly and the Funchal Gate. From there we will go to another Fortress of San Tiago to the old town of Funchal where we will pass through the oldest street in the city, known today, The street with art, with the painted doors.
At the end of the tour, time to give references to nature tours, museums and Madeiran restaurants to taste our gastronomy and traditional drinks.
