Hey! My name is Tomás, I am 26 years old and I live in Buenos Aires since I was a kid. I studied International Relations. I have worked and studied in the US and Spain. I love to travel, discover new cultures, food and history.
Tour San Telmo + Puerto Madero (Meet the old and the modern)
We will walk and discover the most emblematic places of two neighborhoods of the City of Buenos Aires.
San Telmo is one of the first neighborhoods in the City. It still preserves cobbled streets and colonial- style buildings, along with a great offer for tourists. In the tour we will find shops with typical crafts, a great gastronomic offer, tango shows, art shops and the open-air market . You will also be able to learn a about the history of San Telmo and discover little secrets. Did you know that English troops paraded along its famous Calle Defensa during the invasion of Buenos Aires in the 19th century?
Puerto Madero, one of the newest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Here we will be able to see great differences with the first part of the tour, in this neighborhood we will find large skyscrapers , and one of the tallest buildings in Latin America . We will walk along the dam with views of the Rio de la Plata and we will visit the famous Puente de la Mujer . Although this neighborhood is very modern, we can also learn more about history through its streets. Did you know that they all bear the names of Argentine women famous for their contribution to the country?
Halfway between both neighborhoods, we will stop briefly to see the emblematic Casa Rosada (Presidential Palace) and the famous Piramide de Mayo.
