Hi everyone! My name is Ana. I have more than 10 years of experience in tourism and guiding, fun, versatile and passionate about history in general and travel. Carioca but I've also lived in Argentina and UK. Lover of nature and the practice of Yoga.
Welcome to Rio de Janeiro!
Come walk with me, a local guide from Rio de Janeiro, through the famous streets of the historic neighborhoods of Lapa and Santa Teresa.
A path full of art and beautiful landscapes with historic constructions and buildings from the colonial period. It is also where we can see the bohemia and artistic scene of Rio expressed through time.
At the meeting point located at Praça Floriano, Cinelândia metro station, we will already be surrounded by historic and important buildings, we will continue to the famous Arcos da Lapa and then the Selarón stairs, full of colors and surprises, yield good photos.
Rising to the sky literally lol we will enter the bucolic neighborhood of Santa Teresa. There we will visit the park of the ruins, be careful because this view will be difficult to forget.
We continue through Santa Teresa to the final destination, the exuberant Metropolitan Cathedral.
Hey ho let's go!
I'll be in Praça Floriano at the Cinelândia metro station in front of McDonald's with a red T-shirt
The most bohemian neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. Here you will see the Carioca aqueduct that used to transport water from the Rio Carioca to Largo da Carioca and other areas of the Center built in the 18th century. Today, the Rio aqueduct is an important landmark and a meeting point in Rio's nightlife.
The most famous stairs in the world, Escadaria Selarón! Over 200 steps filled with ceramic tiles from 60 countries around the world and from all corners of Brazil. Do you accept the challenge of looking for tiles where you were born?
Located on the slopes of Santa Teresa, Parque das Ruínas has one of the most beautiful views of the neighborhood. At this same address lived one of the greatest patrons of the arts in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Laurinda Santos Lobo.
The Metropolitan Cathedral of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, stands out among the buildings in the city center. Its unique architecture draws the attention of everyone who passes by and surprises those who visit! Its appearance and history are not at all conventional and make it one of the most curious points of the wonderful city!
