Hello everyone. I am Tony. I have been a licensed Kuala Lumpur City tour guide for the past 10 years since I retired as a High School teacher and I am accredited by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia. I love to travel and have had the privilege of travelling and experiencing many other countries and cultures. I love sharing my knowledge of Kuala Lumpur (KL) with everyone, locals and foreigners alike. Though KL is the capital of an independent country since 1957, she has known 446 years of colonial rule by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British since 1511 and those experiences has influenced a greater part of our history. A melting pot of Asia, KL has been labelled as a City of Contrasts and Diversity. I hope to share with you our rich Country, Culture, Cuisine and more! As oft said, to know KL is to love KL. Join me to know KL - my city for the last 40 years. Selamat Datang (Welcome in our local language).
In this evening tour, we will be seeing more of the modern city of KL as well as take a stroll across a LED-lighted futuristic bridge that links the last remaining rural village in KL.
In this tour, I will to take you up the Kuala Lumpur Tower, where you will get to see the panoramic view of the city of KL at sunset as well as the lighting up of the city. There is an entry fee of RM60 per person to go up this Tower. From that vantage view, I will point out to you some of the very significant buildings and the story behind the buildings.
Thereafter, We will stop by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers as well as enjoy the Light and Fountain Shows at the Symphony Fountains.
Along the tour, you can have a delicious local dinner of some popular Malaysian food. (You pay your own dinner, cost about RM30 each depending on your selection of food).
Please be aware that this tour will require a minimum of Five (5) walkers by 3.00pm on the day of the tour,
I welcome all serious walkers.
Do take note that while the Walk is Free, the Guide requires a Service Tip of minimum RM50. Kindly not book the tour if you are not in agreement to this minimum tip.
I will be at the Main Entrance of the Central Market (Pasar Seni) wearing a Guru Walk T-shirt and wearing a Cap.
This refurbished building is now a very popular tourist destination. Inside this air-conditioned Arts & Crafts marketplace, you can find all kinds of handicrafts, art pieces, the Malaysian batik, antiques, etc and even a food court on the upper floor where many types of halal Malaysian food can be found. Do come early BEFORE our Walking Tour and bring home a souvenir or two. We will meet at the Main Entrance for the Evening Walk at 6.00pm.
An Entrance Fee of RM60 per person is required to go UP into the Observation Deck of the KL Tower to have a 360 view of the city. I shall give you interesting information about a few of the significant buildings in the city - its role and history. Be prepared to be surprised with some amazingly beautiful buildings and towers. Sunset (weather permitting) enhances the beauty of the city. We shall stay a bit to also see the city with its glittering lights.
Kg. Baru is a Village. She is now linked to the KLCC by a most colourful and picturesque LED-lighted bridge. The changing colours of the Bridge plus a unique combination of lights creating a pattern of the Malaysian National Flag is a must-see in your visit to KL.
The entire complex of the Petronas Twin Towers includes a world-class landscaped Park behind the Towers. One of the attractions of the Park is the Symphony Fountains which enthrals visitors with a colourful display of lights and fountains swaying to the tempo of local and international songs. We will only stay for ONE performance interval. If you want more, you will need to come back again another night. :)
This iconic Towers is synonymous with Kuala Lumpur. It represents the dynamism and optimism of our Nation, forging ahead to meet the challenges of the World. I will tell you more when we are at her feet. The Tour Ends here. I will assist you to get to where you want to go next OR go back to our starting point which is the Central Market.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
