Our guide with Polish roots brought us closer not only to the places but also to the history of the Soviet occupation of Latvia. All in an interesting and engaging way. Emails was a great tour guide, and presented his personal family history during the tour. This is going over and above in my book, because he allowed us to have an intimate look at history.

Interesting tour that gives a different perspective of history of Riga during Communist era. Recommended to learn more about Riga not just typical old town.

Richard was a brilliant tour guide. We took our 2 year old and turned up a few mins late and were still welcomed very warmly and professionally. We managed to stay for the entire tour as it coincided with nap time and then we bribed our toddler with snacks. Richard was very articulate and explained multiple view points without offending any parties involved. He was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject and drew upon his academics and real life experiences to explain the history of Riga. Thank you!

Good tour, I just wish it was much longer

I'm sorry but I didn't get the guides name but he grew up in Riga and gave us a fantastic Soviet tour.He had a Soviet joke at the end of each stop which was really entertaining.His knowledge about the Soviet occupation was as expected top class.Go on this Soviet tour,it was ,for me,informative,revealing entertaining and worthwhile.Well done our guide.

Wow... Mareks knows EVERYTHING about the Sovjet time - and then some! Very informative, interesting tour, but also highly entertaining. 12/10, would book again!
