🏯 Shang Dynasty City Walls
Constructed over 3,600 years ago, it is one of China’s oldest, largest and best-preserved Shang Dynasty rammed-earth city walls. It serves as vital physical evidence proving Zhengzhou’s status as an early capital in Chinese civilization.
🏺 Zhengzhou Shang Capital Site Museum
Centered around the archaeological remains of the Shang royal capital, the museum houses priceless artifacts including bronze wares, jade ornaments, pottery and ritual vessels, showcasing the origin and glory of early Chinese civilization.
🌳 Zhengzhou Shang City National Archaeological Site Park
An open public green space built upon ancient city wall ruins. It features the Xuanniao Square, bronze architectural models and tree-lined paths, ideal for taking photos and short breaks between museum visits.
📜 Zhengzhou Confucius Temple
First erected in the Eastern Han Dynasty (58–75 AD, roughly 1,900 years ago) and reconstructed repeatedly in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. This tranquil ancestral shrine commemorates Confucius, where we will discuss traditional Chinese philosophy and ancient education systems.
🛕 Zhengzhou City God Temple
Originally founded in the early Ming Dynasty and renovated multiple times in the Qing Dynasty with a history of around 600 years. It is the largest and best-preserved ancient architectural complex in downtown Zhengzhou, featuring exquisite wood carvings, stone sculptures and glazed roof decorations typical of Ming and Qing architectural styles.
🧱 Eastern City Wall Ruins Museum (Dongchengyuan Site Museum)
Built directly on authentic Shang Dynasty city wall relics. Visitors can observe the layered cross-section of rammed earth, recording construction techniques of ancient city defense and Zhengzhou’s thousands of years of urban evolution.
🏮 Bo Du Xin Xiang
A renovated historic alley blending traditional Zhengzhou folk culture and modern creative businesses, an excellent spot for distinctive photographs and experiencing the renewed charm of old Zhengzhou.
