Wine and Cheese Tasting in Montmartre
Tour description
Montmartre Tour + Wine and Cheese Tasting
We'll begin our tour at the foot of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Then, in the famous Painters' Square, we'll learn about the close connection between art and the neighborhood, which has been home to great painters such as Pablo Picasso.
The next stop will be at the last vineyard in the neighborhood. We'll discuss the historical, social, and cultural importance of wine in this area of Paris and learn the meaning of various words related to French viticulture, such as terroir.
Nearby is a picturesque park where we'll continue our exploration of the world of oenology. What are the main winemaking techniques used in French winemaking? Which stages are most notable?
We'll make our final stop at a restaurant. Here, we'll spend an hour enjoying a tasting of three wines: a red, a white, and a third, which we'll taste blind. Among the varieties we'll taste, there will be no shortage of varieties from prominent wine-producing regions such as the Loire, Languedoc-Roussillon, Beaujolais, Provence, Bugey, and Alsace. Minors are welcome to enjoy juices or soft drinks.
We'll accompany the dish with a platter of three French cheeses. Among the varieties we'll be able to taste are Comté, Brillat-Savarin, Crottin de Chèvre, and Camembert. It'll be the perfect pairing!
